Fabienne Verdier est née en France en 1962. Depuis ses études aux Beaux-Arts, son parcours artistique est jalonné de confrontations avec des systèmes de pensée issus de cultures et d’époques différentes. Son processus créatif se nourrit d’une hybridation des savoirs et se manifeste au moyen d’inventions techniques (pinceaux immenses, alliages de glacis, esquisses filmiques). Après ses études aux Beaux-Arts, elle se forme en Chine de 1983 à 1992, aux côtés de grands maîtres. Ses œuvres figurent dans de nombreuses collections, le MNAM Centre Pompidou (Paris), le Musée Granet (Aix-en-Provence), la Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen (Munich), au Nasjonalmuseet (Oslo), ou encore la Fondation Hubert Looser et le Kunsthaus à Zurich.

Fabienne Verdier was born in France in 1962. Since studying art at the Beaux-Arts school, her artistic path has been marked by encounters with systems of thought from different eras and cultures. Her creative process is nurtured by a hybridisation of knowledge and manifests itself through technical inventions (huge brushes, alloys of glazes). After her studies at the Beaux-Arts, she trained in China from 1983 to 1992 alongside great masters. Her work features in a number of collections, including the MNAM Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Musée Granet (Aix-en-Provence) the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen (Munich) and the Fondation Hubert Looser and the Kunsthaus in Zurich.
