After his degree in Architecture from the IUAV in Venice, in 2012 he was awarded a Master in Photography and Visual Design from the NABA in Milan (the New Academy of Fine Arts). He then moved to Amsterdam where he worked as an assistant to the photographer Hans Van Der Meer and at Paradox, developing his interest in photography publishing. Chosen by Foam in 2015 as among the 21 up-and-coming talents of international photography, his work was featured at the Atelier Neerlandais (Paris), De Markten (Brussels) and the Beaconsfield Gallery (London) with the project A Failed Entertainment. With the same project, he took part in the group show 2016 - Sulla Nuova Fotografia Italiana at Viasaterna (Milan), and also won the Graziadei Prize at the MACRO Museum (Rome). Since respectively 2019 and 2021 he is teaching Editorial Systems for Art at MA Communication Design and Photography at Master Degree in Photography and Visual Design at NABA in Milan. Currently, he is curating the programming of CONDOMINIO, a co-sharing space dedicated to contemporary photography and image culture. He has also started collaboration programs with fashion brands, starting from Lover Lover until the recent design projects for the MSGM fall/winter 2021 collection. Since 2016 he is represented by Viasaterna.
Since her inaugural exhibition in 2015, Irene Crocco has created a community of followers around the artists Luca Andreoni, Alessandro Calabrese, Theo Drebbel, Elena Ricci and Guido Guidi. Initially interested in photography, it is now open to a whole wealth of contemporary visual arts, mainly Italian. The enigmatic name of the Viasaterna gallery is to be found in the work of Dino Buzzati.
Dès son exposition inaugurale en 2015 Irene Crocco a su créer une communauté de fidèles autour des artistes Luca Andreoni, Alessandro Calabrese, Theo Drebbel, Elena Ricci ou encore Guido Guidi. D’abord intéressée par la photographie, elle s’ouvre aujourd’hui à toute la richesse des arts visuels contemporains, principalement italiens. Le nom énigmatique de la galerie Viasaterna est à rechercher dans l’œuvre de Dino Buzzati.
