Dear, dear liberty … French designers take this maxim literally to design projects that have a wild audacity. This can be seen in the improbable Vertigo ceiling lamp by Constance Guisset for Petite Friture that has become a bestseller despite its XXL size, or in Ora-Gami, an armchair by Ora-ito (Steiner) whose prospective shape and material developments give it both technological and stylistic prowess. But audacity can also be hidden behind humor as in the La Chaise rug by François Azambourg for Toulemonde Bochart or the epic chariot Jean-Paul Gaultier cleverly reworked in the Ben Hur armchair (Roche Bobois).
